Ackmann takes investment fund off the exchange

31 January 2025

In the aftermath of the riots following the football match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv in November 2024, American “super investor” Bill Ackmann delisted his investment fund, Pershing Square, from the Amsterdam Exchange. The fund had been listed on Beursplein 5 since October 2014.

Pershing Square will remain listed on the London Stock Exchange, where the vast majority of the company’s shares are traded. Bill Ackman himself stated that the violence against Israeli fans was a tipping point in reaching his decision. Others see this as an excuse, and believe that he was already considering removing the investment fund from the Amsterdam Exchange.
